Youth Mentorship Project Coordinator
Coordinated a forum to educate community leaders on mentorship and strategies for a successful mentorship program.  Devised and developed strategies, gap analysis documents and questionnaires.  Gathered info and creating an action plan to establish a black youth mentorship program.  The gap analysis document assessed how well the planned organization’s presentation would address the concerns of the program.  The questionnaire assessed and analyzed the aptitudes of potential mentors and mentees to work within the guidelines of the program.  A comprehensive Final Report was written and submitted to the sponsoring organizations.  The information gathered from this exercise was eventually used to implement a method of mentorship which could be executed in the multi-cultural and multi-national Black Ottawa community.

Provided support to Canada Post clients in various application management business sectors; analyzed their business processes; devised strategies using best business practices to determine course of action; Using logical data models wrote client business plans, proposals, project plans, cost/benefit analyses and made recommendations based on the outcomes.  Gathered, documented, analyzed and identified business needs and functional specifications for the development a web-based application to track and administer corporate purchase orders, created the associated project plan and managed project from end to end.  Analyzed critical business needs, business drivers and current processing environments as a basis for modeling the proposed (To-Be) environment. Developed a comprehensive approach for corporate client’s needs-fit analysis for a web-based off-the-shelf search engine application and service provider; facilitated discussions and design sessions to ensure consensus and commitment by project stakeholders; gathered information, documented and analyzed the top 5 applications based on client’s criteria, leveraged the rating system which was developed and determined the best fit (recommended search engine) based on the results. A follow-up technical proposal was written and presented to the client along with detailed project plans for team members and stakeholders who subsequently implemented the recommended search engine nationally across the corporation.
Within a team of project management specialists, analyzed small size development and maintenance projects (between $150K and $500K), developing project plans, tasks, phases, and work streams from end to end.

Implemented Earned Value practices to Project Directors and Managers within the Corporation.  The Year 2000 Program has a very high profile within and without the corporation.  As such, the ability to generate accurate and timely Performance metrics reports and publish these findings internally or externally was of paramount importance.  As the WorkMangement Performance Measurement Analyst, the role consisted of gathering metrics from all the YMG reporting tools and databases; apply earned value techniques and present findings.  In the course of supporting duties, created, wrote and prepared report documents to graphically demonstrate findings.

In previous assignments, supported the NCC’s Human Resources Group writing and preparing HR Job Placement Opportunities, Deloite and Touche, Natural Resources, Fisheries & Oceans as a documentation specialist – editing and proof-reading a book about the environment and effects of pollution on ocean and freshwater habitat.

As a leading Space and Communications company, CAL Corporation had development subcontracts with the Government and other Government related organizations.  The revenue generated by these subcontracts had to be closely managed and tracked ensuring timely invoicing and cash deposits.  As the EA to the VP Finance, tracked the financials, performed analysis on costs and cash receipts forecasting, prepared P&L Financial Reports and assisted the VP Finance in preparing the Due Diligence document for divesture of the company.   Also employed in communications and marketing for this aeronautical and space engineering firm, Kathy was responsible for corporate communications, communications design, planning and marketing.
